Schedule of Meetings for 2026

Southside Artists Association meets monthly on the first Tuesday (dates are below) at 1200 PM, for planning, artistic demonstrations and discussions by local artists and fellowship. We are open to new members, beginners as well as seasoned professionals. Below is the schedule of dates and topics for this year.

We meet at Towne Bank, off of Mt. Pleasant Road, in Great Bridge

January 6 Meeting at Towne Bank, off of Mt Pleasant. Select & vote for new officers

February 3 Demo - Hannah Chappell - she will share her art and the multiple avenues she explores working as a full-time artist - demo on her techniques

March 3 Demo - Nicole Tagdell - Watercolor Illustrator for children's books - she has many photos and videos on Facebook and Instagram.

APRIL 7 Critique Corner - bring in one or two of your finished or unfinished paintings to show and ask for feedback from our members

MAY 5 Carrie Lane - Carrie is a multi-disciplinary visual artist, currently focused on oil painting middle distance portraits. She's also provided many live sketching events and resides in Va Beach. She's been a residing artist at the Virginia Museum of Modern Art (MOCA) up until their recent closing and move to their new location.

JUNE 2 - Cindy Guard - "Zentangle" workshop after the business meeting and demo presentation. $5.00 for participants to cover the costs of materials (donation to the Scholarship fund).
