My name is Dawn Trojahn and I live in Chesapeake, VA.

 

I am a passionate needle felting artist specializing in lifelike pet and animal portraits.  I began needle felting 2D pet portraits in  2023 and discovered my true passion.

 

As an avid animal lover with a history of caring for numerous pets, I bring a deep connection to my craft. Creativity has been my constant companion, especially while being with my husband while he served 30 years in the Navy.  Together we have raised 3 boys.

 

My art is created using mainly short fiber colored merino wool.  Using a specialized felting needle, I poke small amount of wool into a linen base. This felts the wool into place.  I use different shades and layers of wool to create depth and realism.

 

I'm thrilled to offer commissioned pet and animal portraits that capture the essence of beloved companions.
