Tom is a self-taught artist and comes from an artistic family, including one of D.C.'s famous portrait painters - Kitti Von Kann (his aunt)- and has passed this inherited talent down to his own daughters. With a Naval aviation background, he has been drawn to aviation and the skies as primary subjects, and has a fondness for sea and cloudscapes. Tom works with Acrylic on canvas, and is a member of the American Society of Aviation Artists.
Like most other artists, he is on a journey of discovery and expression, and loves to explore color, composition, and technique.
